1 John 1:2 KJV
[2] For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;
The word used for manifest means “to shine”, “to bring to light”, or “to show plainly”. The life of Christ shined as no other life had ever shown before. Jesus proved he could give physical life when he raised Jairus’ daughter. He proved he could give spiritual life when he healed the palsy man and forgave him of his sins. He proved he could give eternal life when he dismissed his Spirit on the cross and then rose again three days later.
If we take all the days recorded in the gospels concerning the life of Christ, they total less than forty days. However, those days bring to light and plainly show us the Father. They allow us to see the love, the mercy, and the grace of God through the life of Jesus.
Just as we can see God through the manifested life of Jesus, the world needs to see God in our lives. As Christians, we need to live a manifested life. Our lives should reflect both the Father and the Son. We need to bear witness by our walk, our words, and our willingness to serve the Father. This is how Jesus lived. If less than forty days of our life was recorded, what would it manifest? What would it bring to light? What would it show plainly?
