1 John 4:15
[15] “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.”
In our devotional verse today, the Lord opens the door for every man. This open door is found in the first word, “whosoever”. This a familiar word in the scriptures, and is a word that our Savior used often. What a declaration, and what an invitation for all who will accept Christ as their personal Savior! The good news of the gospel is that everyone, and anyone, can walk through the doorway of salvation. Salvation is an open door!
When I think about the door of salvation, I think about the blessedness of being saved. God does not discriminate when it comes to being born again. This door is open, no matter who you are, or what you have done. Child of God take a moment to reflect on the blessedness of being born again. Think of the joy you have in knowing Jesus, and remember the day you walked through that door.
Those who walk through the door of salvation will surely confess Jesus Christ. Born again believers tell others about the Savior. They have a desire to share the gospel of the open door, and want others to experience the peace of the Spirit within their lives. If you are saved, then you know what I am talking about. Believers are never alone once we walk through that door, because He lives within us.
There are many who profess to be saved, but never mention the name of Jesus. In fact, they don’t want you to mention him to them. There is something wrong with someone who says they are saved, but does not want to talk about the God that supposedly dwells within their heart. If you know someone like that today, pray for them to be enlightened. I want to encourage you to share this open door with someone today. Find a “whosoever” and help them get through the door!
