1 John 5:4
[4] “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
We cannot defeat the world and its system within ourselves. No matter who we are, or how strong we think we may be, man has proven that he is no match for the world he lives in. Education, reformation, morality, religion, riches, power and prestige have all failed. The world is simply too powerful for man. The pull of the world and the pride of life will swallow him whole every time, leaving him lifeless and empty in the end.
However, there is an answer to this problem. Man does not have to live defeated, he can have victory over this world. This victory comes through being born again. Faith in Christ Jesus leads to the new birth. The new birth promises us victory. This means we are no longer a slave to the world and its system. We can overcome the world through faith in Christ.
If you know you are saved, then know that God has given you the victory needed to conquer the world every day. Our victory comes from within, not from without. The Holy Spirit within us gives us victory over the world. He teaches us to follow his Word and to do his will. Walking by faith and trusting the Spirit’s control allows us to gain victory over the world. Simply exercise faith in his Word and his will for your life. Learn to walk in his ways by carefully studying the Bible. Allow it to be your instruction manual for life. Seek his will and have faith that his path leads to victory. Remember, we do not have to be in bondage to the world. God wants us to have victory over the world. We can be overcomers through Christ Jesus.
