“How to be Blessed”

James 1:25 KJV

[25] “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

Every man wants to be blessed in this life. The question is, how do I obtain those blessings? Some go about it the wrong way. Some will do whatever they think is necessary to be blessed. They will lie, cheat, and steal to get ahead in this life. Those who try to be blessed by this method are always disappointed. True blessings can only come from above. The Lord blesses men according to how He sees fit. He blesses some more than others. However, He does not leave us in the dark when it comes to being blessed.

Our verse tells us how a man can be blessed. You see, God desires to bless His children. He wants to be good to us just like we want to be good to our children. God says that if you want to be blessed, then continually look into His Word! After you have looked into it, then live by it. God said if we would practice His Word in our daily lives He will bless our deeds. The question for all of us is do we want to be blessed by God?

We often think God is hiding His blessings from us or withholding them. Nothing could be further from the truth. The reason some folks are not blessed is that they live a disobedient life. Whenever your children refuse to obey you, then you do not bless them. If they ignore your word, then they miss out on certain privileges. The same is true about our Heavenly Father. If we want to be blessed, then we must take a look in His Word every day and apply His principles for living. They are there because they teach us how to have the best life. The best life is a blessed life and the greatest blessings in this life are spiritual blessings.
