“The Lord of Sabaoth”

James 5:4 KJV

[4] “Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.”

This title for God is used only here and in Romans 9:29. It is used many times in the Old Testament as the “Lord of Hosts” and is primarily a military term. The Lord is going to return in judgment with His armies one day. He has heard the cries of the mistreated, seen every dirty deal ever plotted, and knows those who have gained their wealth through crooked schemes. He despises the misuse of the poor.

We must remember that things may look unfair in this world, but God has a record book. Not only is there a record book, but there is a reckoning day. He will avenge His children and rescue the poor and needy. He’s coming back with His bride to this earth. When He comes, Israel will be delivered, and He will deal with those who have obtained gain by fraud. When the King comes, every crooked path will be made straight!

What a glorious day that will be when there are no more wars! It will be Jubilee for one thousand glorious years upon this earth. King Jesus will set upon His throne and rule the world with a rod of iron. There will be no mistreatment or wrongful actions taken. The poor will be cared for, and the curse will be lifted. It will be a time like the world has never seen. There will be peace in the valley, the desert will bloom like a rose, and the world will be filled with the knowledge of God. We will all sing of the goodness of the Lord. The Lord of Sabaoth will reign, and we will praise His name through all the land. Dear reader, be sure you are ready for this day to come!
