“Judgment Day!”

Jude 15 KJV

[15] “to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

Enoch not only prophesied that Jesus would come again, but when He comes, He will execute judgment upon all the ungodly in this world. They relish in their wickedness and like to boast about the ungodly deeds that they have committed. They enjoy their hard speeches against the God who created them. They take His name in vain and make light of the eternal punishment that awaits them. They curse God and spew out wickedness without fear of the eternal consequences that await them. It may look like these wicked people get by with their sinful living, but this verse reminds us that a reckoning day is coming.

God will set the record straight for all those who have stood against Him. We must warn the sinner of the judgment to come and do our part to bring them to Christ. We were all ungodly at one time and without hope.

I’m thankful to be on the right side of God‘s judgment. That does not mean that we won’t face judgment. We know the Scriptures teach us that we will each stand before God and give a personal account of our lives. However, it makes a big difference when you know the judge! There is peace in knowing your sins were judged at Calvary. There is peace in knowing that the judge of this earth is your dearest friend. It is a blessing to be saved, knowing that we will not face the judgment Jude is speaking about in this verse.

The blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed the child of God from all of our past, present, and future sins. Christ’s blood has made us righteous in the eyes of God. Because of His blood, we are not under wrath but thank God we are under grace. Let us remember that the same hand that brought Israel out of Egypt and across the Red Sea is also the same hand that rolled the waters over Pharaoh and his army. The ungodly will surely face God for every deed they have done and every seed they have sown. As we think about God’s judgment in the last days, let us rejoice in our salvation and do all we can to rescue the lost.
