“You Can Make a Difference”

Jude 22 KJV

[22] “And of some have compassion, making a difference:”

Is it possible for someone like me or you to make a difference? After all, we are just one individual in a world population of approximately eight billion souls. The devil wants us to believe that there is no way we can make an impact in this world or in the world to come. Sadly, many believers have bought into his lies and have blended into society without any burden for those around them. They are perfectly content with letting their family members, neighbors, and those they meet go to Hell. They are living the American dream and will one day leave this world having made no impact in eternity. They are simply living life for number one.

The phrase “and of some” is highlighted in our verse today. Thank God some believe they can make a difference through Christ! They will not sit idly by and let the world go to Hell. They are striving to win souls, encourage saints, and war against the evil forces of Hell in these last days. If you want to know what motivates these faithful few, it’s a heart of compassion. Their passion for God has given them a vision for others and has stirred their hearts with compassion like Christ had when He saw the multitudes scattered abroad, about to faint, and as sheep having no shepherd. We need to pray for God to give us a heart of compassion for those around us. We need to see people the way Christ saw them, because that is the only way we will ever make a difference in this world.

Joseph made a difference in Egypt, Daniel made a difference in Babylon, Moses made a difference in the wilderness, Joshua made a difference in Canaan, Jonah made a difference in Nineveh, and you and I can make a difference in our world today.

Our verse doesn’t say that all have made a difference, but some have. I don’t know about you, but I want to be a part of “the some” who have helped to make a difference in this world. Purpose in your heart that you will help make a difference in someone’s life today. Give God your best so you can make a difference. Pray for compassion and look for someone to show the mercy of our Savior to. Ask the Lord to give you wisdom on how to handle and help the people he places in your path. Mark your words and prayerfully consider your actions in front of those around you.
