“How to Keep From Falling”

Jude 24 KJV

[24] “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,”

If we make it to the end of our journey without falling into sin or false doctrine, it will be all because of Him. To be able to stand in His presence faultless with exceeding joy will also be because of Him. We cannot accomplish either of the truths in this verse by ourselves. Thank God that what we cannot do, He is able to do through us. Relying on ourselves, we would not last one day, but thankfully He is there to help us.

Whenever I read this verse, I see His help. He keeps us from falling off into the ditches of life. I also see His holiness in this verse. How could we ever stand faultless before Him when we have sinned more after we were saved than we could ever remember? The answer is we will stand in His righteousness and not our own. I also see His honor in this verse. The glory we will share will not be our glory but the glory of our Savior. The verse says, “the presence of His glory.” Then I see happiness in this verse. We will rejoice with our Lord on that great and glorious day.

What a blessing to know that we are not keeping ourselves. Dear reader, it would be impossible for us to keep ourselves from the snares and pitfalls of this life. We are no match for Satan, no match for this world, and no match for our wicked flesh, but we do know someone who can defeat them all. Jesus has already conquered these enemies and proven that He has given us victory.

I want to encourage you, child of God, to be faithful to the very end. The victory is ours, and we have the assurance that He will keep us and fulfill His will in our lives. I’m glad the Scriptures teach that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. We will one day stand in His presence and will no longer have to battle this flesh. We will no longer have to deal with Satan or live in a sin-cursed world. Eternity is going to be all about King Jesus! What a day that will be when we stand in His presence and in His likeness! There will be joy in the hearts and on the faces of God’s children as our faith ends in sight. The battle will be over, the victory will be ours, and we will enjoy the presence of our Savior for all eternity. Keep looking up, my dear friend, and stay faithful in the fight. Whenever you feel weak, remember He will keep you from falling, and there is a brighter day ahead. It will not be long until we see Him!
