“An Inheritance Out of This World”

1 Peter 1:4 KJV

[4] “to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,”

To be saved from the fiery flames of Hell is enough for every child of God to shout about. What a joy we have as believers to know that we will never have to face the awful pit prepared for the Devil and his demons, and we do not have to fear the Great White Throne Judgment. The lake of fire will never be our home! These thoughts alone bring comfort to the saved.

But God has much more in store for His children. He did not save us only to keep us out of Hell but to rescue us from sin, judgment, and ourselves! There are great blessings reserved in Heaven for us throughout eternity. He has erased our past, secured our present, and prepared our future!

Our inheritance is out of this world, so it can never be corrupted by sin or Satan. We know if the evil one could defile and destroy our future, he would surely do it. If our future inheritance depended on us, we would lose it as Adam did in the garden. He lost what God had given him. Satan deceived Eve and defeated Adam, but God had a plan. God delivered them and the entire human race through the Lord Jesus Christ.

In Christ, every believer has the promise of this great inheritance and that it will never fade away. It will be there when we pass from this life to the next. We will receive what our Father has laid up in store for us. Words will never be able to express the joy we will feel when we step into the Father’s presence for eternity. We will pass from death unto life. We will go from being strangers here to citizens of our heavenly home. We may not have riches and wealth on earth, but on the other side, we have an inheritance that is out of this world! He will supply our every need, and we won’t have to worry anymore. What a blessing! What a salvation! What a God!

Tell someone today about the good news of salvation. Find some sinner and point him to the cross of Jesus. Let him know there is more to life than the things in this old corrupt world. He can have peace, joy, and contentment in Christ. He can experience His love and grace and have all of Heaven to look forward to. God will give him an inheritance that this world knows nothing about.
