“The End of Your Faith”

1 Peter 1:9 KJV

[9] “receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”

What should be the goal of our faith? That is the question we will deal with in this devotional. Just because someone has faith does not always mean he is saved. You must place your faith in the only One who is able to deliver you. Faith in religion or good works cannot save you. The goal of faith is to bring us to salvation. That is what Peter means when he emphasizes “the end of your faith.” Faith in Christ Jesus is the salvation of our souls! I am going to Heaven one day because I have placed my faith in Jesus Christ.

The world mocks God and despises His Son. They ridicule and belittle the faith of those who claim Jesus Christ as their Savior. Many times, the world may look superior and believers inferior, but we have not reached the end yet, dear reader. Wait until the final chapters of life and the final chapters concerning eternity come to pass. One day, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. The only thing that will matter on judgment day is where we have placed our faith.

For the believer, the end is going to be glorious. One day, we will trade our rags for His riches and exchange our worn-out bodies for new ones that will never tire or grow old. We will trade a world filled with heartache and pain for a land devoid of suffering and sadness. The end only gets brighter and better for the believer. It truly is the salvation of our souls! We have so much to look forward to at the end of this life.

If you have lost a loved one recently and your heart is breaking, remember that if they are children of God, they are enjoying the blessing of a better world. They might have reached the end of this life as we know it, but they have just begun to live on the other side. They are far better off and would not return to this world of sorrow if they could. They are waiting to meet us and walk with us through the celestial city on that blessed morning. They have received the end of their faith, even the salvation of their souls. Look up, child of God, because a better day is coming for the redeemed. Heaven will surely be worth it all! Spend no time dwelling on the past, but spend your days looking forward to a brighter day that is coming. Get up each morning knowing that you are one day closer to home. Keep pressing on because the end is just in sight!
