1 Peter 1:23 KJV
Peter begins this verse with the phrase, “being born again.” What a blessing to know that you have been born again. Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be born again to see the Kingdom of God. Dear reader, it is still true today that “Ye must be born again!” Have you been born again? Do you know what it means to be born again? If you do, then rejoice in the fact that you have experienced the second birth.
Whenever a sinner hears the Word of God, and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, he is born again. The Word of God is the incorruptible seed that germinates in the soul of a sinner and brings him to a new life in Christ! Our salvation is as pure and enduring as the seed sown in our hearts. Our salvation will last forever because His Word abideth forever. Salvation built on an experience will not last, but built on the Word of God, it cannot fail.
I am thankful that my salvation is up to God and not up to me. I have His Word that it will not fail. God is faithful, and “He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.” My friend, if you know that you have been born again, rest in the promises of God. There is no greater peace than knowing that Heaven is your home. Make it your goal to tell someone else today about how to be born again. Share the gospel with someone who does not know what it means to be saved. Find a sinner, sow the seed in their heart, and pray that they will come to know Christ. The greatest joy outside of being saved is helping someone else to the foot of the cross and watching them get born again. Remember that our mission is the great commission. God is interested in seeing people get born again.
