1 Peter 3:22 KJV
[22] “who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.”
I’m glad that our Bible is not only a historical book but a present and future book. It is the only book that accurately reveals the past, present, and future without error. The Word of God also makes it clear throughout its pages that God is on the throne. He always has been, and He always will be.
The verse before us teaches that God is not only on the throne, but His Son is at His right hand. Jesus Christ is ruling and reigning at the right hand of the Father. He is clothed in glory and honor and has a name above every name. He has all power in heaven and earth, and the Father has committed all judgment unto Him. One day, He will return for His bride and eventually rule on this earth in Jerusalem. What a day that will be!
Dear reader, some days on this earth seem long and challenging. It feels like the enemy is winning, and the wicked are prospering while God’s people are struggling. Remember that one trumpet sound will change everything for time and eternity. We must keep looking upward because God is still on the throne. He not only knows what is happening in this world, but nothing can happen that He does not allow.
God is sovereign and all-powerful! I’m glad that we can get up every morning with the assurance that we have a God who loves and watches over us. He can see what is ahead and promises to supply the grace we need to face whatever comes our way. God is so sovereign that He made man a free agent, able to think for himself and choose his path in life. He is also willing to help us make those choices if we invite Him into our lives and seek His will.
I want to challenge you today to pray and ask the Lord to guide you in every decision you need to make. Trust Him to help you and look to Him for your answer. Remember, He knows what is best and has a plan for your life. He is still on the throne today, and even though circumstances may change, He never changes. Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father, making intercession on our behalf. What an encouragement to pray and rest in the Father’s plan. Live today knowing God is still ruling in this world.
